Tap Class PG (Ages 9-12)

This class is taught by:

Brittany Hammond

Brittany "Bitty" Hammond has been teaching dance, voice, and theatre since 2005. She has taught all over Southern California and New York City and has been a part of the South Coast Family since 2008. Aside from the competition stage, her choreography can be seen at high school and college campuses as well as fundraising galas, community theaters, and church events. When she's not in the studio, Bitty's other job is a professional actress/dancer and she's performed in Japan, Canada, St. Louis, Florida, New York, Sacramento, San Diego, and right here in Orange County. She has also been spotted in a few commercials, movies, and music videos. More information can be found at www.BrittanyRoseHammond.com. Bitty hopes to one day open an acting studio for children and teens and start a regionally touring dance company....FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!...FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!

Lindsey Lee

Lindsey first began dancing when she was six years old and hasn't stopped since.  She trained at Irvine Dance Academy in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical.  She devoted her life to dance and competed with both her studio as well as with her high school dance team when she was younger.  In high school, she was awarded several solo titles including Miss USA National, Miss Dance Drill Team California and 4th Runner up to Miss Dance Drill Team United States.

After high school, Lindsey attended UCLA where she earned her BFA in Art History and her Masters in Education.  While in college, Lindsey danced professionally in Los Angeles as a member of the UCLA Dance Team. While on the UCLA Dance Team, Lindsey had many opportunities, including choreographing competition routines.  She appeared on Fox Sports Television shows, and was a featured dancer in the Choreographers' Ball in Los Angeles.  While living in LA, Lindsey continued to train at both the Edge PAC and was also on scholarship at the Dance Center, formerly known as Tremaines Studio of Dance.

After college Lindsey worked for the United Spirit Association teaching summer dance camps all over California, Utah, Texas and Washington.  Lindsey has choreographed for a variety of schools in the Southern CA area and continues to do so.  Lindsey began coaching within the High School Dance Team arena and her team was awarded 1st place for their "Small Lyrical" dance in the USA Nationals Championship Division.  In addition to teaching dance, Lindsey also judges for CADTD dance competitions.

Lindsey is a dance teacher at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point and is working to develop the dance program within the school.  During her first year of teaching she was awarded the "Rookie Dance Team Director of the Year" by the CADTD organization.  Teaching dance is a dream come true for Lindsey and she hopes to instill within her students the same love and passion that she has for the art form of dance.

Lindsey is married to her wonderful husband, Aaron and has two beautiful little girls, Camryn and Dani, who I am sure you will see dancing at the studio.

Sierra Tanji

Sierra is one of our own and began dancing at South Coast Performing Arts at the sweet age of 6! Sierra was a stand out student who is, even now, devoted to her craft. If you had the pleasure of watching Sierra perform, then you know how excited we are to have her join our SCPA family. Sierra was accepted to AMDA (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy) and after graduating high school, Sierra began her first year at AMDA, which is a college conservatory for the performing arts in Los Angeles. While at AMDA, Sierra soon discovered that she was not a complete fit with this College and her passionate, spirited heart pulled her toward being a dance educator.
Sierra discovered she loves being with kids and especially teaching dance to kids and young adults. Rather than waste time, Sierra shifted gears immediately and jumped into the world of Dance Education. Being that Sierra is an inspiring and motivated person, we are thrilled that she has also accepted the position of Co-Director of our Performing Group Program here at SCPA. In addition to joining SCPA's faculty, Sierra will be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, so that she can expand her range of expertise in physiological, mechanical and psychological mechanisms as related to movement. Helping others is what she loves to do and helping dancers with injuries and technique is a big part of that. Sierra is passionate, loving, fun, patient, and super excited for her future with SCPA!
